On "The only one earth," I met many cultural heritages & features and natures. I made an photolog consisting of three sections; §1.Cultures & features (abroad), §2.Auroras, and §3.Marine organisms(under the sea).

フィンランドやカナダ, アイスランドで出会ったオーロラを紹介しています。
In section "Auroras" , I will introduce aurora photos that I watched at Finland, Canada and Iceland.
日本の沖縄南方の海中でスキューバダイビング中に出会った海中生物の写真を紹介しています。
In section ”Marine organisms”, I will introduce photos that I was impressed, mainly on marine organisms at southern islands in the Okinawa, Japan.

Epsode 1・エピソード 1：歓迎の大放水
南の離島に向かう新鋭機は，青い夏空にわき上がる積乱雲を右に左に避けながら飛んでいた。石垣島にあと少しとなった上空で機首を大きく傾けた時に窓から見えたのは，巨大なカナトコ型の積乱雲が鏡のようになめらかな東シナ海にスコールの大放水をしているところだった。太陽光を受けた翼と雨柱が海面に映り込んだ一瞬を撮った。それはさながら，南の島の滑走路で新鋭機を歓迎する大放水のようだった。

A new plane headed for a remote island in the south was flying to the right and left, dodging the cumulonimbus clouds that rose in the blue summer sky. 今から約60年前の1959年から30年間ほど，TVの紀行番組「兼高かおる世界の旅」があり，150カ国あまりの取材映像が放送されました。白黒で音声抜きでしたが，毎回見知らぬ異国の映像に驚き，旅先についてのトークにワクワク💖したものでした。また，海外映画や紀行本などに出てくる風物にも興味がありました。さらに新奇性探求遺伝子（後にGenelife社の遺伝子検査で分かった😮）による気質も後押していたか，学部学生だった1972年にはタイ，ネパール，インド，そして今では行くのが難しいアフガニスタンなどでバックパッカーをしていました。
それ以来，職についてからも留学や出張で米国在住の機会はありましたがあくまで仕事でした。そして，65歳で定年退職を迎えて責任から解放され，待望の海外や海中へ思い通りに出かけることができるようになりました。そこで，それまでは抽象的な文章や映像，写真などでしか得られなかった情報を，その場に立って実感として味わうことができるようになりました。その折に心を動かされて撮ったスナップ写真やビデオを，この独自ドメイン "TheOnlyOneEarth.com"「かけがえのない地球」に収録しました。
先日，テレビに90歳を越えられた兼高かおるさんが出ておられました。若い人たちに向けて「まず外国に興味を持ってもらいたい」そして「日本は地球上の小さな国だ」，「島国だからよそを見ない」，「自分の目でそこの国の文化，現実の毎日の姿を見てもらいたい，気取ってない姿を」，「旅したことは財産になった」と語られていました。私もそのような意気をいつまでも持ち続けて実現したいと思います。
追記１：兼高かおるさんは2019年1月5日に逝去されました。合掌。
追記２：「最高の人生の見つけ方」から触発
フィンランドでオーロラハンティングをした帰りに機内で映画「最高の人生の見つけ方」（原題: The Bucket List ）を観ました．ジャック・ニコルソンとモーガン・フリーマンが演じる人生にも共感しました。二人のように「棺桶リスト」（死ぬまでにやりたいことのリスト）を作って一つずつ実行していきたいところです（笑）😅．

On the flight back from aurora hunting in Finland, I watched the movie "The Bucket List." I also sympathized with the lives portrayed by Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. I would like to make a "coffin list" (a list of things I want to do before I die) like them and try to do them one by one (lol) 😅.
